Meet our Communications

Officer, Erin Flanagan

Erin is a recent graduate of The Ohio State University where she studied Environmental Policy and Decision Making. She specialized in Communication and Behavior Change. During her time at Ohio State, she led a capstone project that developed a university–public school district partnership designed to engage students in environmental education on their own campuses.

Erin also worked with Ohio’s WRRI for over a year and a half, assisting with communications and outreach. In that role, she wrote about water research, supported institute messaging, and developed various GIS projects to visualize and share data.

Her academic training and professional experience combine a strong foundation in environmental policy with practical skills in communication, education, and technology. Today, Erin brings that expertise to NIWR as Communications Officer, helping members share their research, stay connected, and amplify the impact of water resources work nationwide.
