This year’s program includes opportunities in three key areas: 104g General, PFAS (Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances), and Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS).
These grants are open to investigators at institutions of higher education whose work addresses water-related research needs of regional and national significance. Proposals must be submitted through the Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI) in the applicant’s state or territory.
Funding Highlights:
- Up to $310,000 for the General 104g program, 6 awards anticipated
- Up to $309,000 for PFAS projects, 9 awards anticipated
- Up to $346,875 for AIS projects, 4 awards anticipated
- Project duration: 1–3 years
- 1:1 non-federal cost share required
- Full proposal deadline ~mid-September (contact your WRRI for more information)
To help interested researchers get ready, WRRIs from across the country are hosting an informational webinar:
Date: Thursday, August 21
Time: 1:00 PM (Central Time)
Platform: MS Teams
The session will provide an overview of the funding opportunities, details on the proposal process, and time for Q&A. It will also offer a chance to connect with other researchers and USGS staff scientists who may be interested in collaborative projects.
